In consideration for participation in North Carolina Preservation Consortium’s (“NCPC”) workshops and programs (the “Workshop”) the undersigned, for themselves, their personal representative, heirs and next of kin agrees as follows: I hereby release North Carolina Preservation Consortium from all liability relating to injuries or other harm that may occur during a workshop, program, site visit, or from recommendations given by NCPC or its representatives (collectively, “Releasees”). I HEREBY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL RISK OF LOSS, DAMAGE OR INJURY AND OTHER RISKS, KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, FORESEEABLE AND UNFORESEEABLE, EVEN IF CAUSED OR PROXIMATELY CAUSED OR ARISING IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF ANY RELEASEE that I may sustain in connection with the Workshop or my attendance thereat.

I also acknowledge the risks involved in consultation, recommendations, or advice. These include but are not limited to personal injury, financial injury or injury to property. I swear that I am participating voluntarily, and that all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, any conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity will be my full and sole responsibility.

I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE RELEASEES OR ANY OF THEM FOR ANY REASON. I will also make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and as explained to me verbally. I will ask for clarification when needed. I understand the neither NCPC nor any other Releasee makes any guarantee, representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or the results of the Workshop, and also acknowledge that all advice, opinions or recommendations are suggestions only. NCPC is not a contracting firm nor does it engage in activities of engineering. Any suggestions taken including recommendations of contractors or other subcontractors are my sole responsibility.

I fully understand and agree to the above terms and intend this document to be fully binding and unconditional and understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it.
